IT support in Vancouver

Someone competent to call, included in the monthly rate. No ticket limits, no hourly billing, and no queue built to discourage you from using it.

The quality of IT support is not decided by how fast the phone gets answered. It is decided by whether the same thing breaks again next month.

Plenty of support desks are quick and useless. A ticket gets closed, the symptom goes away, and the cause sits there waiting. Over a year that produces a strange kind of stability: everything works, badly, and everyone has learned which things not to touch.

We treat a repeat ticket as a defect in our own work. If three people report the same thing, the interesting question is not how fast each one was handled, it is why it happened three times.

What support actually covers

  • Your staff. Laptops, desktops, printers, phones, mailboxes, file access, the software they use all day, and the password reset at 8:55am before a client call.
  • Your systems. Servers, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, firewalls, VPN, Wi-Fi and the line-of-business application everything depends on.
  • The things nobody owns. The meeting room that never connects, the scanner that stopped mapping, the shared mailbox nobody can remember the rules for.

Support is one part of a managed arrangement rather than a product sold on its own, because responding well to problems you are not allowed to prevent is a poor deal for everybody. The monitoring, patching and backup work that keeps ticket volume down is described on our managed IT services page.

Remote first, on site when it matters

Most problems are solved faster remotely, and a session your staff can watch and end at any time is also the safest kind. Our support page explains how a session starts, what the technician can see, and how you stop it. On-site attendance is included when the fix needs hands on the hardware. We are based in Surrey, so if your site is south of the Fraser see IT support in Surrey.

Common questions

What is an IT support service?

IT support is the part of a managed IT arrangement your staff actually touch: somebody to contact when a laptop will not start, a file is gone, a mailbox is full or the VPN will not connect. Good support is measured by whether the person answering can fix the problem rather than log it, and by whether the same problem keeps coming back.

Do you charge per ticket or per hour?

Neither. Support is included in the flat monthly rate per device, with no ticket limits. Per-ticket and hourly billing create a quiet disincentive to call, which means small problems go unreported until they are large ones. We would rather your staff contacted us early and often.

Do you come on site or is everything remote?

Most issues resolve remotely and faster that way, since there is no travel between the problem and the fix. On-site attendance is included when a problem genuinely needs hands on hardware: a failed switch, a server that will not POST, a new office to cable. We cover Vancouver and the surrounding Lower Mainland.

Can you support us alongside our existing IT person?

Yes. Co-managed arrangements are common, where an internal person keeps the relationships and the business knowledge while we carry the monitoring, patching, out-of-hours cover and the escalation path. It also removes the single point of failure that one internal IT person always represents.

How fast do you respond?

Response depends on severity, and any provider quoting one number for everything is quoting a marketing figure. A production server that has stopped responding is a phone call regardless of the hour. A disk at 85 per cent full is a ticket and a scheduled fix. We agree the severity definitions with you in writing before anything starts, so the expectation is shared rather than assumed.

If your current arrangement means problems reach you before they reach your IT provider, that is the gap worth closing. Book a free assessment and we will document what is running, what is unsupported and what is most likely to fail first.
